Lately...

These past few days have been so busy. David has been working a lot, actually a whole lot. He worked 9 hours both Saturday and Sunday and he has been staying late during the week too. Friday night we went out to eat and Saturday I got to hang out with my mom while David was working. Friday night my brother called my mom and said he could come home early from Tulane so she rescheduled his flight for Sunday. Taylor is playing football at Tulane and he went for the month of July to practice with the team. He won't admit it, but I'm pretty sure he got a little home sick! It was good to see him and I'm glad he's home for the next couple of weeks before he has to go back for good.

Tanner, my other brother is getting ready to go away to Blinn at College Station. I know Tanner is going to love every minute of college. He loves people and seems to make friends anywhere he goes.

I am going to miss both of them a lot!

Student Loans

What was I thinking when I signed up for all these student loans?

First of all, I must say I had a great experience in college and wouldn't trade it for anything! I met life long friends that I wouldn't of met if God would not of lead me to Abilene. However, I don't enjoy making that payment on the 15th of every month. I have a hard time understanding why college is so expensive? Sometimes it seems that I could do the same job I am doing now without a college degree. I have been "trained" on how to do certain tasks on a daily routine. So the question is, is this degree worth all the money that I owe?

Painting

David and I "gutted" the house about two years ago. However, the pre-painted white baseboards in the bathroom never had a real coat of white paint. So tonight, I got this really wild hair and thought it would be fun to finally finish up the project two years later! I also touched up the paint in the living room where we have recently moved some pictures around, and filled in old holes. I am really on top of things tonight! haha :) The not so good news would be the water leak I happend to run across in the kitchen. There was a soft spot on the kitchen ceiling so David crawled up in the attic to check it out. Turns out there is a leaky pipe. Not sure if that is better than the roof leaking or not, they are both expensive! Oh the joys of being a homeowner!

Weekend

Friday night when I got home from work i was exhausted! I sat around on the couch for a couple of hours then David and I decided that we would go and get some dinner since it was almost 8:00. We ended up going to the Black Eyed Pea and the service was horrible! As soon as we got home I headed for the bed and slept for almost 12 hours. Saturday morning I got up and met my mom at Heidi's to get our hair done. When I finished up there I left for Sugar Land to see my old college roommate Hollie. Her and Chris recently bought a house and it is just precious. It was good to see old friends and see how well they are doing. Yesterday, David and I bought some new decorations for the living room and watched Daddy's Little Girls. That was my weekend in a nutshell and I can't believe that it is already Monday again!

Back in the Swing of Things...

Well I have now been back from Dominica for two weeks now and I am just starting to get back into my routine. We have been busy lately with work, David's softball league (they won the championship) and doing home repairs. We are having our tree trimmed today. I must confess I had no idea that tree trimming was so expensive, apparently I entered the wrong profession :) David's best friend Mike brought his youth intern with him Wednesday night when he preached at League City. It was great to see Mike and meet Aaron. I am so glad today is Friday and I get to sleep in tomorrow morning! Hope everyone has a great weekend and hopefully I will have better luck next week with the blog!

It's the most, wonderful time, of the year!

Christmas is my favorite time of year. I love the trees, the lights, the music, the food and the gathering with friends and family to remember Jesus's birth. This year David and I have rented a cabin in Georgia and some good friends of ours, Danny and Kenzie will be joining us! I am really looking forward to this time to relax and enjoy the beautiful atmosphere. The cabin is about 2 hours away from Atlanta and it looks beautiful! There is a lake that runs beside it along with a ton of trees! I can't wait!

Dominica

I returned from Dominica a couple of days ago, and I am so glad I got to make the trip this year. There were a lot of ups and downs, but the Lord always provides. I was sad that David couldn't go this year, but he had to work and take care of Diesel. It was good to see old friends I hadn't seen in three years and it was a joy to meet new people, and share the word with them. The kids were precious as always and I wanted to take them home with me! Overall, it was a good trip and I'm thankful for the opportunity to go. Please pray for the church in Grand Bay and they work that is being done there!
